"1) Why is the Fraternity so concerned about hard alcohol? The trend in recent years regarding the rapid consumption of hard alcohol is of great concern to the Fraternity. Hard alcohol has a much more severe effect on a person due to its high alcohol concentration and, therefore, makes it much more likely for a person to become dangerously intoxicated after consuming it. This policy decision is aimed at making Sigma Chi facilities safer places for all members and guests." They are banning Hard alcohol not going dry, this may lead to them going dry in the future but who knows.
