If you receive a bid, you will have a new member period (length of time varies depending on sorority). If you decide either Greek Life isn't for you or you really don't want to be a member of the sorority you accepted a bid to, you can drop before initiation and will be eligible to go through recruitment again the next year. If you are initiated, you are a lifetime member and would not be eligible to ever join another sorority. Please keep in mind that not every girl automatically loves her house and feels at "home" on bid day. For some (myself included) this takes a little more time to develop so be patient and really take the time to get to know the girls in your pledge class once recruitment is over since these are the girls you will be spending the next 4 years with.
