Are you a freshman? Are you initiated yet? If you are a freshman and not initiated, then you have a solid chance to sign another house. Of course, if you are initiated, you cannot become a part of another house. I will be honest to say my house is not a "top house" (Side note, tiers are really just a popularity contest. The kind of people that care about that stuff says a lot about them). I transferred in and obviously I did not have many rush options. It was mid-year and because I would be too old to wait for fall rush, I decided to pledge whatever houses were having a PC before the school year ended. I know of several people who have felt how you are feeling. Of course, they had different circumstances than me. I have to say the rush chair at my house did make the house seem cooler than they actually were. But I just put myself out there and have branched out to people in many different houses. I have friends in "top", "middle", and "lower" fraternities and sororities. Again, I am chill with the guys in my house, it's just that like you our social schedule has had a history of not living up to what it should have been. That being said, I have enhanced my experience by using connections to get into other parties and I have made good friends outside my house as well and find time to hang out with those people. While my acceptance into the UW mid-year limited my choices and prevented me from rushing in houses I wanted to, I still made something out of it. I hope you do too!
