Disclosure: Written by member of a student council Pi Kappa Alpha / "PIKE" (Generally well rounded members with the nicest/largest house on campus. Good relations with best sororities on campus and biggest Philanthropy.) Theta Chi / "Tchi" (Places more an emphasis on social activities rather then grades/programming. Has a good philanthropy + also now the oldest fraternity on campus. Struggling recently w/ sorority relations. Great date functions.) Pi Kappa Phi / "PiKapp" (Very diverse and largest fraternity on campus. Great sorority relations. Unfortunately almost universally disliked by other fraternities b/c of incidents from the past. Very frequent night parties.) Phi Gamma Delta / "FIJI" (Also very diverse and in many ways similar to Pi Kapp, slightly less strong when it comes to relationships with Sororities but still very good. Parties not as frequent as others but when they do happen, tend to be more fun.) ---------------------------- Kappa Delta Rho / "KDR" (Most members and best parties of the middle tier fraternities. Strong relations with middle tier sororities. Has a greater focus on socials then academics / philanthropy. A very decent fraternity but suffers from chronic "middle tier" syndrome and lackluster national HQ.) Kappa Sigma / "Kappa Sig" (Grew very quickly with a lot of momentum. Possibly best local alumni and nationals support at VCU. A reputation as a freshmen hotspot when it comes to parties but its to be expected given the youth of the chapter and its members. Recent issues notwithstanding a lot of potential here. Very good relations with another fraternity in KDR which is rare at VCU.) Phi Kappa Psi / "Phi Psi" (Without commenting on the ongoing investigation, this chapter has seen some decline in the 1-2 years with KDR & Kappa Sigma growing very aggressively . Even still, for the last 5 years Phi Psi has been a reliable middle tier fraternity that places a lot of emphasis on maintaining its culture through selective recruitment.) --------------------------- Lambda Chi Alpha / "Lambda" (Saw explosive growth in the past few years that saw it go from a truly bottom of the barrel fraternity to one that would be middle tier if it placed more emphasis on campus involvement and membership development instead of partying. Fraternity of choice for bottom tier sororities on campus with some outliers in middle tiers.) Sigma Chi (Unfortunately never regained the momentum lost from the graduation of its founding class. Set apart from those below by its higher numbers and actual relationships with at least one or two sororities.) Theta Delta Chi / "TDX" (Unlike Sigma Chi, never really had momentum from the beginning. Was initially comprised of a group of friends from VCU engineering that all graduated at once. Very good grades.) Sigma Phi Epsilon / "SigEp" (A model chapter according to its national office, with a lot of focus on service, membership development, grades, etc... Unfortunately very few PNMs rushing care about these things more then partying but genuinely composed of very nice guys. Don't particularly care about the social ladder.) Pi Lambda Phi / "Pi Lam" (Took a more service organization approach then that of a social fraternity. Care a lot about student advocacy and community service but have little else going for them.) Triangle (Not only co-ed, but also only for engineering students.) Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (Music students only. Nothing else really.)
