I would also make the suggestion that you get to know many fraternities during rush, and not limit yourself to what Greek rank says, as much of the information here is incredibly biased. Each fraternity has its own unique strengths and weaknesses here at VCU. However, the typical trend I've noticed is that those who focus more on the social aspect tend to lack in the areas of service & academics (and vice versa). Finding a chapter that has the right balance between academics and socials really depends on your opinion of what that balance would look like. So have fun with rush, go to many different fraternities events, and see who you click with. And on a less serious note, the more rush events you go to from different chapters, the likelihood that you'll get more free stuff (food, giveaways, ALCOHOL)
