Since you asked...... Kappa is a good group of girls. I mean honestly any sorority at UT is good, we go to an SEC school with over 1000 girls rushing every year. However, KKG has gotten a bad reputation, especially the last few years, for being mean, partying a lot, and not exactly keeping it classy. Obviously that doesn't mean EVERY Kappa is like that, as a matter of fact I know some very sweet KKGs, but you get the idea. They are typically considered a bottom tier sorority because of the reasons mentioned earlier along with having a low GPA overall and not placing in very many events (only 1 ACE event last year) so no you don't really have to have any connections, and they say recommendations are required, so I would get one, but I guarantee there will be girls in their next pledge class without them.
