As I'm reading through all of this sniping I notice that KKG, DG and Pi phi seem to stay above the fray. It's hard to tell on an anonymous site where anyone can post anything but there is no evidence that they are getting nasty like so many of the others. I'm sure that there are other houses that tend to rise above the pettiness as well, but the ones I mentioned seem to stand out in that way. I find this refreshing and appealing.
