KD, Phi Mu: Definitely top-tier at UTK—these are the houses everyone talks about during recruitment but are known for making big cuts before Philanthropy. They’re super social, have a network of alums with deep pockets and connections. They consistently recruit standout pledge classes. Tri Delt, AXO, DZ, ADPi: Solid lower top tier/upper-mid tier and very popular. Tri Delt is full of fun, social girls. AXO is often known for self-ranking but it’s still a solid top house. DZ is especially popular with out-of-state PNMs (particularly from NC, VA and OH), while ADPi is known for favoring in-state/hometown girls (though that strategy didn’t work as well this fall). Kappa, Chi O, AOPi: These are solid options, too. Kappa has a quirky, fun vibe, Chi O is sweet, smart, tight-knit and surprisingly highly selective. AOPi is a good mix of academics and social life and is low-key. DG, SK, AGD: These houses all offer strong sisterhoods and a welcoming atmosphere. DG is genuine and down-to-earth, SK is smaller but tight-knit, and newcomer AGD provides a close, inclusive community. Pi Phi: Known for having one of the best sisterhoods on campus. They have a chill, laid-back vibe that attracts fun, easygoing girls who found a great home. At the end of the day, it’s all about finding the house that feels like home—rankings don’t matter once you’re in!
