UTK has become more competitive in the past few years. If you are a Tennessee resident and don't have AT LEAST a 3.25 GPA from your HS, then you need to apply to one of the smaller state schools in Tennessee. If you are from oos - then you will need at least a 3.5 to get in. My cousin was not accepted and went to UT-Chatt for one semester, she then transferred to Knoxville for spring semester. Here's another thing to keep in mind - - if you don't have at least a 3.0 GPA, Greek life may not be for you. The cut off for most groups is about that.
