Subject:
pnms: popularity and fit are two different things!

Poster Message:
Liking sororities from "all different tiers" during recruitment is okay. Tiers don't come up in conversation whatsoever when you're an initiated member, unless some girls in your chapter care about that sort of thing. Most people involved in greek life don't think they exist anyway, and the ones that do usually won't associate with many people outside of a select group. Sure, there are chapters on campus that fit the stereotype better than others. Some girls like the stereotype, others don't. Feeling one way or the other is completely okay! I dropped out of rush because I was freaking out that the last chapter on my roster wasn't popular enough...funnily enough, now I'm in that chapter and I love it more than all the others I had set my eyes on before. Sure we have differences, but I don't really care! My wonderful friends are here, my values are represented, and most importantly, I have pride for my sisterhood because these ladies are my lifeline. Questions I suggest y'all ask yourselves before zoom recruitment starts are these: 1. What are the top three values I want represented in the chapter I join? 2. What am I really judging a chapter on? Do I want to keep judging them all this way? (its ok to have "rude sounding" answers, you need to be truthful with yourself!) 3. What kind of people am I looking to be friends with when I'm in a sorority? I promise y'all won't be as confused about rankings after rounds are over if you have these answers in your mind! One last tip: When you're thinking about how to rank chapters the first few rounds, ask yourself this question: If I walked in here on my worst day (tattered clothes, old cakey makeup, haven't slept in 48 hours), how would the girls I met react? Good luck!!
