I'd make sure to make a great first impression. Recs shouldn't be as big a concern as grades, so if you went to a difficult HS make sure to point that out- girls won't necessarily know your school if you're from OOS. Most will look for a minimum of 3.5 from a difficult HS and 3.75+ from a regular public school (especially a public school known to have AP courses available) unless you're a legacy or know someone in the chapter already.
