I don't think the sororities at UT have a negative reputation. They are what you make it. If you want to get involved in academics and clubs, they are the place for you. If you want to focus on academics, there are girls in every sorority that want that too. If you want to go to mixers and date parties, there are girls in every sorority that want to do that too. There is a lot of Pan love at UT. It gets a little catty on here, but nothing like other SEC schools. In most, if not all, of the sororities, you are required to log so many study hours. They want their members to have high gpa's. They want you to be involved in leadership opportunities.
