that appear to be the most "popular" during recruitment are the most desired of the ones that get to invite larger numbers of pnms to parties. They are on lots of girls' lists- so they generate a lot of chatter among pnms. Other houses that don't get to invite as many girls don't generate as much chatter and may appear to be less popular, but are actually more difficult to get into. Thus, "popularity" in recruitment isn't necessarily an indicator of rising or falling "tiers", just an sign of who is most wanted among the houses that have large invite lists. KD (and others) who have to make large cuts may appear to be "falling" because they aren't on as many girls lists and don't get talked about as much, but in reality it just looks that way to girls who don't fully understand how the system works. The fewer girls invited, the harder it is to join that house.
