Some girls say tiers matter some don't. It really depends on WHY you join a sorority. I remember crying on bid day because I didn't get the house I wanted. I look back on it & now I feel so stupid & embarassed for crying! If you have a house(s) that your friends are in, legacy, etc that you reaaalllyy want -- go for it! I see a lot of "don't take just anything" & there is nothing wrong with that but really think about why (or why not) you wouldn't want to take a house. I did not want my house at first just because the reputation I saw of it on Greekrank. I took it anyway because I was a sophomore & really wanted to be Greek. I'd met nice, awesome girls in my house my freshman year but was so concerned with ranks I was still skeptical. Now- I wouldn't want any other house. I've learned I do fit in my house & it's not forced! If you get a house you don't fit in & you realllyy don't think you'll be happy DON'T TAKE IT! BUT if you have made some good connections during recruitment and you only want to decline your bid because of what a website ranking says you need to evaluate yourself & why you want to be greek. I didn't love my house straight off the bat but I had good convos in rush & wanted to give it a chance. I will come out & say it-- YES I HAVE BASHED MY HOUSE & OTHER HOUSES HERE ON GR. But now I regret it.... Go where you are happy.. Make the best of greek life! Try not to focus on so much on letters and more on sisters! Now that I've done that I'm soo much happier. <3
