I went through rush this year hoping to get in one of the top sororities. All this bs about 'there are no tops', every one at UT is good'...is bull. It's Greeks themselves who get on here and rank and it happens in 'real life' too. Some are not good. Anyone can tell you which ones aren't or are mediocre, in which case, save your time and $$. Don't be so desparate to make friends that you spend thousands to be in just any group! It is ok to drop if you get dropped! Why should it be a one way street? On here girls make it sound if you don't get in one of your choices, that you should just take anything just to be Greek. I had 3 I wanted going in. I was top ten gpa at a big school with a great social and service resume too and considered attractive. I got dropped (and was told this even though everything is supposed to be a big secret) because i was a legacy and others thought i just 'had' to be in one my mom pledged 30 years ago for some reason. I wanted to drop, but didn't because it's a big school and i wanted a friend group so i pledged a mediocre one. It was totally not worth it to spend so many hours and so much money to be in an organization just to belong at a huge school where there are other free oppotunities for friends. It works out for some girls, and some act like it does to save face, which is honestly what i do. If i had it to do over again I would have dropped after my top choices dropped me. It doesn't mean you are a terrible person, just realistic.
