Good afternoon, We are sending this update on behalf of Retreat at Tampa management and ownership, and the information included is extremely time sensitive and requires action once read. We understand that the Retreat community is home to a number of students that are part of fraternity and sorority organizations. We appreciate the loyalty we have received from returning members and thank you for your continued trust in the Retreat Tampa while you make it your home. Unfortunately, our General Liability insurance carrier who insures the community has communicated that they are requiring any items affiliated with a fraternity or sorority organization need to be removed from the community cottages and areas around their exteriors. We have been given the deadline of Wednesday, September 2151 for this to take place. The items that need to be removed from the community entirely (Not just relocated somewhere on site) include but are not limited to: - Fraternity letters standing outside of cottages -All benches located in front of or behind cottages -Hanging banners or Fraternity letters -All mentions of The Retreat Tampa as the location for promotions, advertisements, event locations, etc on social media and public platforms. The Retreat Tampa is an off-campus apartment community that is not affiliated with nor do we do business with any of the fraternal/soronty organizations on campus and we are now being required by said insurance carrier to make these immediate changes on site. We understand this is not at all what any of our residents want to hear, and the current management team in the office is sincerely sorry for the updated requirements being asked of you at this time. We are hopeful we will find some way to identify the organizations on site in lieu of benches/letters/banners/etc and we will keep all residents on that progress if any is made. Please contact the leasing office before September 215 with any questions you have. After the 215t, management will assess the process of disassembling and removing any remaining items that we have stated need to be removed from the community. Sincerely, The Retreat at Tampa Team
