All of the sororities accept a different number of girls depending on how many girls graduate in the spring, drop, or get expelled. The sororities are supposed to have a similar number of active members. Because you mentioned the “top sororities” you’ll likely have more competition because the other new girls (PNMs) will want them too, but at USF the top houses are much easier to join than at other schools. Just hit the gym and plan your outfits for rush as early and strategically as possible, get involved and get that HS GPA up. Also, don’t talk too much about yourself at rush- that seems to be the difference between the girls who get top versus bottom sororities. Make them want you by asking about the girl you get paired with and her sorority, but make sure to strategically weave in interesting/impressive tidbits about yourself. Oh, and I can’t stress this enough, get good with names! There isn’t much in this world that’s more flattering and impressive than a PNM that actually remembers our names. Good luck and if a sorority tries to dirty rush you, please don’t respond to them, you will end up in the wrong house and hate it! By the way, when a sister “drops”, she does it purposefully because she doesn’t like the sorority. Expulsions are when the sorority gets rid of the girl; and those are pretty rare. Also, I would ballpark a pledge class to be around 50-100ish new girls to each sorority in the fall rush. Sending Pan-Love to a sister-to be! Get excited!
