Although you may have your heart set on one sorority, you should never be dead-set on just one. That's great that you met some girls in aphi that you hit it off with but there are 6 other sororities to choose from and you may hit it off with girls from some of those as well. When going into rush, the girls who get hurt the most are the ones who only wanted to be in one particular one, and the girls who find the most luck are those who kept an open mind and kept an optimistic attitude. I'm not saying that you won't get into APhi, but you should know that if things don't work out with that sorority, you shouldn't completely give up because you may find your place somewhere else either as a non-greek or in another sorority. Also, since USD doesn't have sorority houses, you can still be friends with the girls in alpha phi even if you aren't in their sorority. Luckily, you have an entire semester before rush starts, so get to know a lot of different people, observe girls in other sororities as well as girls in alpha phi, and attend the greek "get to know us" events that are held first semester where all sororities are present and you have an opportunity to meet girls in each sorority. Once you rush, be nice to everyone, keep an open mind, and I wish you the best of luck!
