Subject:
few tips for pnms this semester...

Poster Message:
just wanted to clear some things up for the PNMs going through this semester 1. you cannot "drop" a sorority during recruitment. they cut you, not the other way around, and even though your rankings affect the process, you CAN (and likely will) get asked back to your lowest ranked houses. don't be shocked, and don't worry too much about it. just be polite while you're there. 2. rankings on here only say so much. every sorority, no matter its "tier," has the same basic stuff: sisterhood events, philanthropy events, mixers, and Greek Week participation. if you want to rush just to join one sorority, you may ruin your chances of going Greek at all. I URGE YOU to keep an open mind, because recruitment is inherently awkward and uncomfortable and it's really hard to get to know an entire house during it! honestly all Pitt chapters are great in their own ways and it's worth it to join any one just to be Greek imo. and it's not like you can't hang out with other houses just because you're in XYZ...we all have friends in other chapters. 3. try not to listen to "tent talk," or gossip/rumors about chapters in between recruitment parties from other PNMs. make up your own mind and try not to let other people decide what's right for you. it's your college experience, not theirs. 4. RELAX. recruitment is SO stressful imo, but try and remember it's not the end of the world, and if you don't get your first choice, you can still have a great time and meet awesome people. it's worth it!
