Phi Mu would have to want to return and invest lots of resources into making a go of it. The university would allow a number of sororities to present their cases to come to UVA, and part of a persuasive case is having a pretty deep bench of alumnae willing to volunteer with the chapter. Schools open for expansion when chapters are too big--not when the girls don't like the chapters offered. That's just not how it works. Phi Mu is a great sorority--just like all the nationals already on grounds. Sororities are big business and their decisions to open chapters are business decisions. Sorry this probably isn't exactly what you want to hear. I encourage you to join a chapter already here if you want to be part of greek life. It helped me to realize that no sorority was perfect.
