- Informal is not for freshmen. - Informal recruitment is not an organized process like formal, and is not run by Panhellenic. Each house decides if they want to offer a few bids in the fall, or not, so you have to ask the houses if they are considering doing so. They can only do that if they are below the maximum allowed house total, and they are usually only interested in girls they already know well. No house has to do informal at all. - Each house can do informal in one of two ways: 1) If a house has only a few spots to fill, they will reach out privately to girls they already know well and who are interested in their house and invite them to an event or two, or will just go ahead and offer bids. You really have to be an insider with them already for this to work for you. 2) They will have a more open event or two that they might announce publicly. Or not. Only houses that can take more than a few girls will do this. - Best advice: If you know members in a house where you would like a bid, then reach out to them and tell them you are interested and see what they say. If you don't know anyone at all and did not go through formal recruitment, you are probably best waiting for formal this year. Does this help?
