<strong>Subject:</strong><br />sororities vs frats<br /><br /> Poster Message:
People put sororities into the same category as frats and it's just not accurate. Sororities are more diverse because the recruitment process is completely different. You get a bunch of different personalities in every house from different backgrounds and with different majors and interests. Fraternities recruit guys in a completely different way and get to know them better, in my opinion. This results in douchebags recruiting more douchebags into their house and smart guys recruiting more smart guys into their house. Of course there are exceptions but this is usually how it goes. Also, you can get into a fraternity through friends, which also results in the majority of a house being from a certain area (ex. pi kapp is mostly from wichita & phi psi is mostly from rockhurst). With sororities, you can't guarantee that having friends in a house will get you a bid. Also, being from out of state will not make it harder to get into the house that you want. These myths stem from the recruitment process for fraternities, which are mainly true for the for the most part. Luckily, the panhellenic recruitment process is ALL FAIR GAME!
