Call out whoever you want. Have the conversation. Try to convince but never strive to silence. And never ask anyone to disregard their deeply held beliefs and conform to yours. That kind of mentality only breeds resentment and does not change hearts. Only true problem with the ‘sentence’ is the one sided hypocrisy of it. Probation sent the wrong message, as if thinking for yourself is a crime. Bring in all parties involved, let them each pick materials that represent their views. View them together and have the discussion. That is how you model ‘positive collegial discussion’. Don’t punish people for expressing themselves.
