Gamma Phi Beta: not super involved on campus, but Gphis are usually super pretty and are starting to become more focused on grades. Very popular with the frats, and love party. They recruit more out-of-state girls than the other “top” houses, and are a little bit more diverse in the girls that they take. Pretty good location too, and I love the house interior! Kappa Alpha Theta: very similar to chi o with an emphasis on grades, but these girls like to go out a little bit more. They take a variety of different girls, but do a good job recruiting. Theta always seems to be doing fundraisers or having functions, and seems to have a strong sisterhood. Most thetas I’ve met are artsy, fun, and smart. Some people see them as “boring” since they don’t go out as much as other houses, but I know plenty of Thetas that like to party! Kappa Delta: the girls that they take are super diverse, every KD I’ve met is very different personality-wise. But they’re usually pretty nice, outgoing, smart, and involved on campus. From an outsiders perspective, they seem to have a strong sisterhood, but my friends in the house have mentioned a little bit of drama happen. They also do a lot for the community, super involved in philanthropy and RCR! Kappa Kappa Gamma: recruit a LOT of local girls. Kappas go out a ton, and have a reputation for being “one of the guys”. Very popular with the frats, but it sounds like an intense chapter to be a part of. These girls take a lot of pride in being Kappas, but they don’t have the best reputation with the other sororities on campus (besides Pi Phi I would say). Definitely known as being the sorority that goes out the most. Pi Beta Phi: they have a hazing scandal from a few years back, but seems like they’re trying to move on from it. I’ve met some sweet girls in this house, and very mean ones. They aren’t the most involved on campus or philanthropy, but it’s a good house to join if you’re looking to have a very “social” college experience. They’re very specific on who they choose to recruit, and have to give out snap bids each year. The interior of the house is super nice as well. Sigma Kappa: I don’t hear much about this house, but most SKs I’ve met are pretty nice! Very philanthropy-based and do a lot for the community. They always go through informal, and take a diverse group into their pledge classes. The house itself is a little outdated, but has one of the better locations. They don’t really have a “reputation” if that makes sense, I would say SK is a good house for those looking for a more relaxed experience of being in a sorority, while still having a strong sisterhood.
