Hi there! Social media presence shouldn’t matter to most houses, but with that I would say make sure you try and get as many letters of recommendation as possible, so the houses can get to know a little about you before the start of recruitment (in place of them looking on your social medias). As for the recruitment process itself, I think this year it’s going to stray away from what we’ve traditionally done in the past. Not much information has been released on what FFR will look like, but Panhellenic should be updating us soon! Here’s my honest (and unbiased) description of each house without ranking. Alpha Chi Omega: known for dirty rushing, which has been getting them into trouble with Panhellenic and this caused them to go on probation last fall. That being said, however, the girls that they recruit are actually super sweet and know how to have fun. The interior of the house itself is very nice too, and was one of my favorites during house tour day. Leans more towards being a party house rather than academically-focused. Pretty popular with the frats, too. Alpha Delta Pi: not your typical sorority girls, but very sweet nonetheless! Lots of pre-professional majors, and consistently keep one of the higher GPAs. Very involved on campus both in and out of Greek life. They continually go through informal in order to match quota. Not a house for everyone, but the girls who stick with it really seem to like it. Some girls go out, but most of them put their focus on school first. Chi Omega: best location on campus, and puts the most emphasis on grades than any other house. From what I’ve noticed, chi o is kind of a mixed bag with the girls they take. There’s some that go out a lot, and there’s some that rarely go out and come across as “churchy”. But tbh, I’ve never met a Chi O that I haven’t liked! They’re very involved in their philanthropy as well (Make a Wish). One of the harder houses to get a bid from. Tri Delt: Get a lot of their girls through informal, and takes a good mix of different personalities. I think anybody can find their people here. I honestly don’t hear too much about them, but the ones I’ve met in class and in my residence hall are very kind, and enjoy going out! Doesn’t seem to be a house with much drama, and they do a lot for St. Jude and the community. Delta Gamma: their past few PCs have been really good! Very similar to Alpha Chi Omega in terms of the girls they take. I have a lot of friends in this house and they all love it. From what I’ve heard, DG has a very genuine sisterhood, the girls enjoy going out, but also know how to keep a high GPA. Well-rounded in terms of the girls they take. They also have a very cute house!
