Edgy... not really. But they sure do try hard. DG's are partiers, yes, but so are Kappas and Pi Phis. And you really can't be from a lower class family and join a sorority at any large university and afford a sorority. If by lower-class you mean they might drive a used car, well ok. But that hardly makes someone low class. I've seen plenty of girls in top tier houses get themselves underwater in credit card debt spending on clothes and trips to impress others.
