So true. There's a lot of pressure being in a "top" house. You can only date guys in other pre-approved "top" houses, and cannot socialize outside your assigned group. I know for a fact one of the "top" frats isn't allowed to date any girls in certain other houses. Learned this freshman year, when all the guys who were talking to girls in certain houses had to end things because those girls weren't on the list of allowed girls. This works both ways btw. If you are out of state, assuming you don't know anyone at KU, don't be deceived by the illusion of top/middle/bottom houses. The house you are in has just as many kind, intelligent, funny, friendly girls as any other house. Girls in middle and bottom houses aren't unhappy, it's just the girls in the "top" houses think they are. It's a myth that if you say something negative about a "top" house you are merely jealous. That's so untrue. Most girls I know in bottom and middle houses are perfectly happy and have no desire to associate or socialize with girls who think they are better than everyone else and extremely stuck up.
