<strong>Subject:</strong><br />BMP, undergrad program<br /><br /> Poster Message:
As a SigEp, one of the most challenging steps undergraduates face is holding their peers accountable for both their promises and their actions. The BMP (Balanced Man Program) is a program by SigEp, and it is structured so that enabling leaders and members to hold other members accountable was strengthened. One of the outcomes of SigEp adopting the BMP was that members were more likely to not offer bids to prospective members who expressed highly social interactions that involved alcohol. As prospective members who wanted primarily social aspects of membership were less likely to return for follow-up events, the men who did return showed greater interest in campus involvement and leadership through the Balanced Man Program. The recruitment process with the BMP is far more like a job interview where the members were encouraging prospective members to tell about their motivations for their undergraduate experience and reasons for personal involvement.
