I heard many schools banning alumni letters to hold weight since many people may have not have had the privilege of parents being able to afford to attend universities or being in a sorority /fraternity. Does Berkeley Panhellenic still allow it? Does it give rushees an unfair advantage if they have alumni/ legacy recommendations where others may not?
