Subject:
all the sororitys doing spring rush + perspective

Poster Message:
The other post was taken down because it contained individual names. Listed are all the sororities participating in spring recruitment, however Zeta Tau Alpha, Gamma Phi Beta, and Alpha Chi Omega are the only ones listed on PHC holding formal events (this mainly has to do with the budget, national's etc., not a house's selectivity). For the other sororities, contact them DIRECTLY and express interest. AXO: This is a great group of inclusive girls and a really fun house. They are considered by many to be the "counter-culture" sorority because many don't fit the typical sorority mold. Many girls are big on activism, sustanability, etc. but then again, not all. They are considered a lower tier house, HOWEVER, AXO, like all sororities are only getting stronger due to larger amounts of girls rushing. They have consistently maintained a strong presence on campus and aren't going anywhere. Solid house. You'll get plenty of bids to mid/lower frats. but these girls don't go out as much as other sororitys. ZTA: This is Cal's newest house, but they were charted in 2012 before any of us were even students at Cal so this doesn't really matter anymore. This house bounces between mid and lower mid depending on who you are asking but slowly climbed its way to become a solid and established house on campus. Like AXO they aren't going anywhere and its a great group of girls but ZTA is slightly higher and has better frat relations in my opinion as they go out more often. They too get bids to mid and lower mid houses. Their weakness is that it can be seen as a relatively divided house: partiers and a quieter bunch. BUT: this means you'll fit into at least one of them. You'll probably feel less involved if you go out less, but hey, academics are important too and you always have the option to go out. DELTA SIGMA: THIS IS A LOCAL CHAPTER. While you can join Greek Life as a local chapter and still have a great experience this is something you MUST keep in mind. Pros are that there is no national oversight (more leniency and flexibility but a con is that there is no national oversight (who's funding events? alumnae relations? etc.) This house is also lower mid and has been since they were AOPI. Great group of girls, but many dropped when they lost their letters and this house lost its uniformity, having had to take in members last year separately from fall formal. I believe they still have the same frat relations, but this house is relatively divided because of their local chartering. Unlike ZTA, this division btw old/new members weakens the house imo. That being said, you can still have a great time in this house. You'll probably get to live in and they have the nicest house in my opinion. Also, many members were around when it WAS AOPI, so you'll still get a sorority experience, there are just more caveats CHI OMEGA: Like delta sig, this house lost a LARGE amount of its members last year when their inappropriate finsta was leaked. First and foremost, this speaks of the culture of the house to some extent. HOWEVER, this house has changed significantly since they lost so many girls. Its now a little more divided in terms of its members but they are doing a great job at keeping up their relations and presence on campus. They exchange with mid tier frats and get plenty of bids. BUT... they are under close watch from nationals following what happened. they're not leaving campus anytime soon, but this will impact your experience to some extent.
