@making contact, a question for you: Who at Cal has any level of responsibility or accountability for what happens with recruitment? How do you know that much of what is said on here hasn't been said in other official forums? To kick the Cal issues down the road to NPC is just typical of what happens here in terms of responsibility. Perhaps its a West Coast thing? I have no idea. But I do know other schools have larger recruitments and the process runs like clockwork and in a professional manner. Nobody is saying people aren't working hard and giving 1000%. People are killing themselves. But when people work so hard and the same things keep happening and the same issues get brought up over and over via official channels and nothing changes at a certain point you just have to leave it in the past. I am not sure our school has the will or interest to make things different than they are today. This makes me sad but I know that there is nothing that can be done. Institutional inertia is a terrible thing. I do know saying the issues need to be solved elsewhere won't solve anything. There are many people that are upset so the conspiracy about a single person is honestly not true. People that feel this way know each other and have been vocal but are realistic to know nothing will ever change here.
