Cal sororities can and do accept "more women" only when said women choose to complete the recruitment process. Women cannot be counted into Fall formal quota if they do not complete the full recruitment (prior to bid day) process. The RFM recruitment method Cal uses would have had a bid day spot for you in one of their fine sororities had you chose to attend those two pref parties and maximized your signed pref card option, because RFM maximizes the number of women given bids. Formal Quota (this year quota was 54) is not chosen until after sororities know the number of women who attended their pref parties.
