Honestly most of the non-Greek population doesn't care or know enough to care. It depends on your definition of "respected". For example, GPhi is ranked the "bottom" amongst sororities but I have so much respect for them. I witnessed a PNM openly bash on them during FFR in front of them at their house. This PNM later broke a strap on her shoe and I saw two GPhis rush over to help her. AXO had extended a bid to a girl a few years ago who ended up not being able to pay for dues-- they still invited her to some of their social events and didn't let that get in the way of still becoming friends with her. I had friends in "top" houses who admitted their houses wouldn't do something like that. I know people in DG who frequently ordered an extra dish whenever they ate out and would give it to a homeless person on their way back. DG and ADPi frequently have some of the highest GPAs amongst chapters. SK, Zeta, Aphi, and Theta all have their own negative stereotypes, but I think they have a lot of diversity in their involvement on campus and in PHC. Most Greek life girls I meet from campus clubs are from one of these houses. ChiO and Delta Sigma went through a lot in the past year and I have a lot of respect for them. TriDelt, ChiO, and Zeta are all really invested and hardcore with their philanthropies. The list could go on. Honestly no house is perfect, but just because they're not perfect doesn't mean they're not respectable. I think all houses are in one way or another.
