Honestly the advice here first should be look at the cost, discuss with your family, then come up with a shortlist, then pay close attention when you rush to those houses you shortlisted and be sure to rank your houses according to your shortlist. Your list should factor in fit AND cost. Finally, if you do end up in a house that you don't feel excited about drop out! Why should anyone pay thousands of dollars for something they didn't really want or sign up for something they cannot really afford! It's better to reach out to students with cost information BEFORE students rush so that they're going into it with eyes wide open. You will also have fewer retention problems!
