The power imbalance doesn't need to be fixed. The sororities select who they want. That's the point of rush. Then at pref the girls are left with their favorite options, and they choose their preferences (although they can of course be matched to their second choice, but majority get their first). I just think we need to throw mutual selection talk out the window and explain to the girls of how it really works. You are interviewing for positions. Within your options you have the power to choose, but it's not "mutual selection". We pick, and then you pick from your options. We do need to know the identities, but not for creeping on social media. It's so we know who is coming, can match them up with good rushers, create an infrastructure etc. I DO think we should warn PNMs that once they register for recruitment, their social media is fair game and to put it on private. Once again, transparency. Although frankly PNMs can game the system that way if they are clever.
