To Bear: Honestly it sucks reading posts like this saying that you dropped out of rushing because you didn't get the house you want. By dropping out doesn't help change the system it just hurts you. Instead of meeting a whole other house you're choosing to have no part in greek life at all. Yeah it's unfair because being a minority maybe got you cut from a "top" house but in real life if cut from a job because you're a minority would you completely stop trying? I'm not in your shoes so maybe i don't know the whole story but it's just a bummer that you couldn't help change the system. The only reason ranking's matter is to guys anyways. Most girls in each sorority have friends in other sororities so it's not like most girls actively dislike other girls; So if a guy doesn't talk to you because of your house is he really the guy you would want to talk to anyway? Most times when asked why a girl wants a top house is because of a guy so why would you choose a house based on guys rather than the real reason, "sisters"? So what if you're in a house that's less white, aren't you in fact judging other minorities because they aren't white? The greek system isn't going to change immediately, it'll probably be years before houses truly change, rankings stay the same based on the past and if you can't see it in yourself to change than how are the houses/rankings supposed to?
