Ima be honest with you man, I personally don't think it's going to work out too well. Are you a single parent? If you rush any house worth joining there's going to be a lot of mandatory stuff that's going to leave you blacked out/tired/etc. Would you be able to deal with that? Sure there are army vets, internationals, even grad students that join frats sometimes but I've yet to meet someone that was raising a child. Depending on the frat, time commitments vary and not sure how many houses do a hell week anymore, but those are things you'd have to consider. If you're intent on joining a fraternity I'd (probably only time ever) maybe suggest a house that doesn't haze at all or maybe something like SigEp that makes you a brother pretty much instantly so that you can make sure you have enough time to spend with your child.
