So, it absolutely sucks sucks sucks for y’all PNMs about the videos so just wanna give y’all some info. First of all, it is totally BS that it was done that way, they should have found a way to do open house and not just use the amount of girls rushing as an excuse to have a completely superficial first round. But understand that it’s not completely up to the sororities how many people they invite back either, and we hate to have to let people go like that. Panhell gives every sorority an approximate number of girls they have to invite back or cut based on how many girls wanted to go back to their parties last year, it’s all an algorithm. So yeah SDT and deeph are known for being superficial but in this case they were TOLD exactly how many girls they got to invite back, while like pi phi probably had to invite most of not all people back except grade cuts. Sororities can try to invite more or less, but if they do they take a risk of not being able to give snap bids or meet quota because they dropped too many trying to look selective. I think the idea is to get the most people into sororities as possible cuz each one has the same amount of bids to give out, so knowing most people want SDT as an example, it does no one any good for them to invite tons of people back all week and then drop a bunch right before pref. Idk if that makes people feel better, sororities still gonna judge based on whatever they do, but if you’re seeing major cuts, understand it’s a numbers thing. I’m just sorry the system this year didn’t even give the sororities a chance to meet you first
