To give a panhell perspective, every chapter that COBs does it differently so it’s hard to know what to except. Larger chapters usually give bids faster, while smaller ones may have a much longer Cob period and take longer to give bids but it all depends. The thinking is usually to integrate people into the chapter as quickly as possible if it’s a pretty small class, so when some chapters cob it’s more individual, you could get a bid within a few days. When chapters don’t do it openly it may be similar with hardly any rush process at all and they just vet and bid close friends. Pi phi will be trying to take a big class, so their cob period may take longer and the bids may come all at once but I just don’t know. If you have been in their process for more than a few days and you see other people getting bids I would wonder, but if no one has you’re good. It’s also normal to just ask them how the bid process works without asking for a bid, if that question puts them off it would be weird and a big red flag. It’s not a secret that they need a big COB turnout. Don’t make it sound like omg I want a bid but just ask like “how does your process work” or “when do bids come out.” I’d agree with the above though and give you a warning, if you are COBing anywhere else, I don’t know if that’s what you meant by the comment about waiting on Pi phi, you may have to make a choice sooner rather then later because their COB period is probably not going to be as long, one or two weeks is typical for a chapter that isn’t new, so I would have that convo w pi phi sooner rather than later if that is the situation you’re in.
