I'm not going to name-drop any sororities but from someone who was a pnm last year - don't go into recruitment with your heart set on one sorority, I promise you most of the time it won't work out. Go in with an open mind and as much as I understand thinking you want to be in one sorority you really don't know until you talk to the girls in each house and make connections. It's so easy to want to be in a house because of "ranking" (which really doesn't matter at UM for the most part) or maybe you have friends in that sorority but you have to be friendly and personable to every house. My mind changed so much throughout recruitment the more girls I talked to and when I knew a sorority was right for me I knew it in my heart. Please don't go to one house thinking beforehand you would never want to go there because you just want SDT because I promise you the recruiters will pick up on that vibe. Overall, just be friendly and the natural conversations will flow and I know everyone says this but if a house is meant for you you'll know and if that is SDT you won't have to do too much forcing or thinking about how to get a bid. It's a mutual selection process. Good luck!
