Subject:
open letter to girls who dropped

Poster Message:
I know this is a greek website (obv) but just for a sec Id like to talk about geed life. For any girls who got dropped or chose to drop out of rush, I just want to let you know that greek life isnt the end all be all of UM. I was dropped from a lot of houses my freshman year due to my low gpa, and at the time was hysterical. I flew home to be with my friends for the weekend because I didnt want to be here watching all my friends get bids. 2 years later, Ive realized that being dropped was the biggest blessing in disguise. UM is the best school in the world to spend your 4 years of college at, and not being 'greek' hasn't gotten in the way of that at all for me. I live with girls in two different sororities, and they are still my best friends, i still consider them 'sisters'. It may sound hard to believe, but when I tell people that Im a geed, and why i love being a geed, they almost always tell me they lowkey wish they were too. So, enjoy your time here. Especially if youre a freshman, because that first year goes way too damn fast. While there are perks to being in greek life, Id argue that you can get all those same perks on your own, if you try hard enough. Not at all trying to hate on anyone in greek life, I think it is a great opportunity for some people, but I hope you can recognize that being a god damn independent is a great opportunity as well. No matter what, your college experience should be defined by more than a few letters (or lack there of) ok ted talk over Go Canes!
