Chapter 2: The Confession It was a Friday night, and the Lambda house was buzzing with activity as the brothers prepared for the weekend party. Garkus had been trying to ignore the knot in his stomach, but it tightened when he saw Muben arrive, his presence instantly commanding the attention of everyone around him. “Muben!” Garkus called, forcing a smile as he approached. “You made it!” “Of course! Wouldn’t miss the five-way for the world,” Muben replied, his eyes sparkling. “You know I can’t resist a good party.” As they chatted, Garkus couldn’t shake the feeling that he needed to address the tension between them. “Hey, can we talk for a sec? Somewhere private?” Muben nodded, his expression turning serious. “Sure. What’s up?” They stepped onto the porch, away from the noise. Garkus took a deep breath. “I… I need to tell you something.” Muben looked at him, concern etching his features. “What is it?” “I care about you, Muben. More than I expected,” Garkus admitted, his heart racing. “But there’s also… someone else.” Before Muben could respond, the front door swung open, and Yeric stepped out, eyes narrowing as he spotted them. “What’s going on here?” he asked, a hint of irritation in his tone. Garkus felt his stomach drop. “Just talking,” he said, trying to keep his voice steady. “Talking or confiding?” Yeric shot back, crossing his arms. The tension was palpable, and Garkus felt trapped. Muben glanced between them, confusion in his eyes. “Garkus, what do you mean ‘someone else’?”
