Subject:
looking at numbers of reviews

Poster Message:
Here are the sorority review numbers per chapter (ranked high to low): KKG: 224 PiPhi: 198 SK: 156 DG: 141 XO: 124 DDD: 120 Theta: 90 AXO: 56 AEPhi: 31 I think we can all agree that this doesn't really align with the current chapter standings on campus. However, a few things can be deduced by looking at the outliers. Chapters with very low numbers of reviews are the chapters that no one feels the need to rank, either because they've been the same for a long time or because everyone feels like everything said in the reviews is all that can be said. Chapters with very high numbers of reviews are ones that cause a lot of controversy, and therefore people review them often. Chapters falling in the middle are the ones that people still care about enough to review, but don't cause controversy to the point of high review volumes. Now take a look at my proposed ranking: DG, XO, DDD PiPhi, Kappa, SK AEPhi, Theta, AXO There's no order within tiers, I'm just grouping by outliers and middle ground. A lot of people aren't going to agree with this ranking (and it doesn't even really look quite right to me) however this was a data analysis I found interesting. Takes into account everything people find important: philanthropy, partying, looks, cattiness, involvement. Seems to be closer to striking a balance between the people who seem to like more well-rounded based ranks and more party based ranks. Thoughts?
