Big "#" relates to the groups that are generally always considered top in most opinions around campus. Sure some would argue that others be included in the top group, but those general fraternities and sororities are almost always labeled as "top tier." Like at Auburn there's more of a "Big 6" fraternities and "Big 5" sororities. Of course the term "big" can be replaced with "top" or "elite" or whatever since it's not a household expression here. At AU, these are the "Big" groups that usually aren't debated. There are others that make a case but are debatable. "Big" 6 Fraternities: Fiji, Sigma Nu, Theta Chi, KA, SAE, Beta "Big" 5 Sororities: KD, Chi O, ADPi, Phi Mu, Alpha Gam
