It is true, however most girls will not get cut since there is a high rate of pledging at AU...however, if you come in with only one or two groups you want, then you will probably be unhappy when you get cut by them. I saw one girl who cried and cried when she did not get asked back by the group "she had always wanted." She stuck it out and pledged an entirely random group she had never thought of and now she loves them! So, give them all a chance. I had a friend that went through when I did, did not get invited back to the groups she wanted (she still had 3-4) and she dropped out. Worst decision of her life! She was not able to ever get in any other groups in open rush and even the groups that had kept her did not bid her later. She wishes she had gone ahead and pledged and had the socials and parties and fun sisterhood. Don't give up on any of them no matter how unhappy you are at that time! You may never get another chance at any!
