Thanks for writing all this! I was crushed when I got dropped by the sorority that I wanted as was my best friend. I decided to stick it out, but she dropped out. I pledged a group I had never even considered and I have some of the best friends and had some of the most wonderful times that could not be any different than if I had gotten my "dream" sorority! My friend is still my best friend, but she never pledged anything because she thought if she waited, her favorite group would take her later, they never had a place, so she never pledged anything. My group never had any openings either (and someone claims they are low, but we never have had any problems pledging great girls and are one of the most involved on campus), when we were freshmen and sophomore and now she's too old to get in really. She wishes she'd stayed in rush and found a group, but she did what she thought she had to do. So follow this main post suggestions, they are on the mark. If you read negative things about a group, its usually written by one or two girls only under different names. All the groups have the same kind of girls (and yes, they all have all sizes of girls!). Try to give all the sororities a look and open your eyes to what each offers. Sororities offer a lot and part of that is gaining maturity while away at college, unfortunately there are some on GR who have slid backwards or never moved forward from high school. Good rushing to all!
