Is whatever year the new group is coming on board, they will advertise the semester before hand and they will send representatives called leadership consultants who are recently graduated members that are hired by their nationals to travel to their existing chapters and to the campuses where they are going to charter. They do a lot of tabling on the prospective campus and talk to interested PNMs. During formal recruitment the chartering sorority will be put into the first round rotation and their national officers and their LCs will give presentations to the PNMs. PNMs who are interested in being charter members can drop out of formal recruitment at any time to pursue membership with the new sorority. PMNs can go all the way thru formal recruitment to prefs, but if they sign a bid card and get a bid, then they will not be eligible to rush the new sorority. Usually a couple of weeks after formal recruitment the new sorority will hold events and interviews with interested girls and then hold a pref event. The new members will get bids and have a bid day just like established sororities. Panhellenic does not force anyone to join the new group, nor do they keep girls going thru formal recruitment from receiving bids from existing sororities.
