@Go Open Minded! - Since you have not rushed as an active you are not really understanding. PNM's DO NOT CUT. PNM's only RANK, and their rankings have no effect whatsoever on how the sorority ranks them. When a sorority cuts a PNM, the PNM's ranks don't matter, she is cut. The sororities have decided most of their first cuts well before in-person Ice Water Teas or video submissions. This round is, and always has been, mostly perfunctory. There is no way any sorority could ever wait to make decisions about their required, huge, first round cuts based on a quick in-person meet or video. Sororities already know much more about the PNM's before rush even starts than the PNM's know about the sororities at this point. There is always the exceptional PNM that surprisingly wows a sorority at this round, so you never know, and sororities always look for these girls. But the PNM's that get a full card back after IWT or even Philanthropy are few and far between. These girls are the ones whose ranks matter because more houses want to invite them back, 13 or more after IWT or 8 or more after Philanthropy. Again, these girls are few and far between. For the vast majority of PNM's, it won't matter how much they want a sorority back or how much they don't because their input isn't really worth much until pref.
