Actually, out-of-state girls who do not know anyone at Auburn are probably the most open to all of the sororities because they don't come into rush knowing much about any of them. It seems to me that the local girls would come to rush with more preconceived ideas of where they would like to join. My original point was that being an out-of-state girl from Georgia is very different than being from a state or city where no one in your town or high school has attended Auburn in years. Your assumption that my daughter is socially awkward is incorrect (and offensive). You immediately assumed there was something wrong with me or my daughter rather than acknowledging that the system is biased. I understand why it is biased as it is human nature to try to help out people that we know and like. What bothers me is that the university is not up front in sharing this information and that girls are hurt by this rejection.
