Ladies I appreciate the passion but you have assumed quite a lot especially about me. My daughter has picked herself up and has moved forward. She is going thru prefs and I think she will make a good choice. The point I was trying to make is that joining a sorority is a commitment of time but more, of the heart. She had several favorites and by skit day, she had been cut by those favorites. She then had to regroup, gain her strength and figure out where her heart was and if she could be true to herself with the choices she had left. It's easy for people to comment and throw arrows but joining a sorority just to join one is not good advice. When you then deride chapters on this site who lack "sisterhood" perhaps it's because it's full of members that were never committed to that sorority. I fully support any decision my daughter makes and I can assure you that she has had an open mind. But getting cut be the ones you really liked throw you into an emotional tailspin. For those that say trust in the process, I guess it worked out great for you. But there are also girls that drop out and do fine, others pledge and end up dropping out because they didn't feel it. There are options. Today is an emotional day and my advise to her is to go someplace quiet and listen to her heart.
